Launched in 2011, Hélas founded by Adidas Skateboarding Global Pro team
rider Lucas Puig and friends, Clement Brunel and Stephen Khou.
They started with caps but soon also made clothes and brought back some 90’s vibes and French hip-hop styles into skateboarding.
The name Hélas "...is kind of an expression for, unfortunately, In France, you say it, when there’s nothing you can do. You hear bad news and must deal with it and then you say: “Hélas”, even in French hip-hop it’s used in a lot of lyrics"..., Said in an interview by Stephen Khou and Clément Brunel.
Combining elegant heritage with modern street style, Hélas apparel specially fabricated with cotton piqué material featuring the hallmark ribbed collar and button placket. Modernizing clean 80s court style with a nod to skate, embroidered versions of Hélas logos are represented along.
Adidas Skateboarding has collaborated with the eternally French skate outfit, Hélas, for a limited edition footwear and apparel collection. A nod to Adidas’ rich court roots and classic '80s tennis fashion, the Adidas Skateboarding x Hélas capsule features a clean custom white Matchcourt, a windbreaker tracksuit, a polo shirt, a t-shirt, shorts, and two custom hats.
